All Taegeuk Forms now available on the website!

We now have videos of all of the Taegeuk forms on the website, demonstrated in real time and by the numbers.

Thanks to our assistant instructors Donovan Kelley and Calvin Paulson for performing the demonstrations!

This will be a great resource for you to use while practicing at home.

Blast from the Past

We love hearing from our former students. Thank you Garett for reaching out with such kind words.

My name is Garett Bugda. I began training with Master Quiming when I was 12 years old. My father was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. I used to train with my best friend Adrian Moncada.

Those years were very influential to me. I left Tae Kwon Do after leaving the Philippines because frankly I was never impressed with any other school. I joined the Marines after High School and last year I began training again with my three children (16, 12 and 6).

I regret not getting back into it..but am loving the experience all over again. My children are in love with it and constantly joke about my "intensity" in the Dojo. I am proud to say that I owe my love of Martial Arts to Master Q and although we have not spoken in 30 years, he is still a big influence and inspiration to my training.

Please pass on my best wishes to him and all of his students. They are in wonderful hands.

Calvin Paulson Promoted to Kukkiwon 3rd Dan

Congratulations to Calvin Paulson for an outstanding performance during his Belt Test in December. He is now a Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Federation) 3rd Degree Black Belt. This is a major accomplishment for any Taekwondo student, especially one as young as Calvin.

Now officially an assistant instructor, he is generous with his time and talents in helping students polish their poomses. He also has self defense skills that are just as sharp as his wit.

Make sure to offer him your congratulations the next time you see him around the dojang.

No Class Valentine's Day, Regular Schedule Saturday and Presidents' Day

This Friday, all classes will be cancelled on account of Valentine's Day. However, we will still have tournament training class on Saturday and all classes as usual on Monday, despite the fact that it is Presidents' Day. (We think the founding fathers would want you practice self-defense in case the British come back.)

Have a great weekend!

Ms. Anita promoted to Kukkiwon 2nd Dan

Anita Lindsey was recently promoted to 2nd Dan Black Belt with the Kukkiwon--the international governing authority for the World Taekwondo Federation.

Her dedication and passion for Taekwondo and our Taekwondo family is truly admirable. She's worthy of her rank. Job well done, Anita!

Master Douglas promoted to Kukkiwon 5th Dan

This June, Master Douglas was promoted to 5th Dan Black Belt with the Kukkiwon--the international governing authority for the World Taekwondo Federation. There are only 1,605 Kukkiwon-registered 5th Dans in the entire United States, so this is quite the achievement.

All of our Black Belts at Q's Taekwondo are registered with the Kukkiwon and receive an official Kukkiwon certificate and picture ID card, which ensure that their rank will be recognized by any certified dojang in the world.

Again, congratulations to Master Douglas on his great achievement.

Q's wins 20 medals at UTA Championship

There was a sea of red and black Q's Taekwondo t-shirts in the stands at the UTA All Star Championship on June 1st. This show of school pride and unity fueled our competitors on their path to victory.

The nine students--including four first-timers--representing Q's Taekwondo beat out a field of over 300 to bring home 20 medals (8 gold, 11 silver, and 1 bronze).

Congratulations to those students and to their parents. We are so proud of you all.

Strong Showing from Q's Taekwondo at LMA Tournament

Q’s Taekwondo brought home five gold medals from the 2013 LMA Open Taekwondo Championship held at Renton High School on March 16th.  Over 300 competitors participated, representing Taekwondo schools throughout Washington State. Participants competed in Forms and Olympic-style Sparring.

Q’s Taekwondo had eight students competing in 14 events, bringing home a total of 13 medals, including five gold. None of our students returned empty handed, an especially impressive feat considering that many were first-timers. Watch our website for tournament pics and videos or post your own to our Facebook wall.

We are so proud of all our students. Our strong showing at LMA, especially in Forms, really highlights their strong foundations. Understanding each stance, block, strike, and kick and combining that with the necessary speed, technique, balance, and coordination is the key: that’s the Art of Taekwondo.

Congratulations again to all our competitors!
